- Summary
- New American landings on Lingayen Gulf help speed up the invasion of Luzon (biggest of the Philippine Islands). Japanese aircraft bomb the fleet during the landings. Ships of the Pacific Fleet bombard the island of Luzon and General MacArthur seated on an invasion barge off Luzon sees his troops go in to make the landing.
