Summary
US 9th Army troops prepare to cross the River Roer. With "ducks" and assault craft and under cover of a smoke screen the troops cross the fast-flowing river. The RAFs part in the softening up of Germany included the burning and blasting of Pforsheim, an important munitions centre.
