Summary

On their way home from Yalta, President Roosevelt and Mr Churchill hold talks with rulers of three eastern countries. King Farouk of Egypt is seen being welcomed aboard an American destroyer by President Roosevelt and his daughter. The next visitor is Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. Meanwhile at the Auberge du Lac, 40-miles from Cairo, Mr Churchill has talks with Ibn Saud, King of Arabia. Other talks were held at the Egyptian Council of Ministers Offices in Cairo where Mr Eden, Lord Killearn and Ahmed Maher Pasher pose for photographers. (Shortly after this Premier Ahmed Maher Pasher was assassinated after announcing Egypt’s entry into the war against Germany and Japan).
