- Summary
- Manila burns as parachute infantry are dropped in a surprise attack behind the enemy positions. Tanks en route to Manila after weeks of fighting on Luzon. On the outskirts of Manila the people turn out to greet their liberators after three years of Japanese captivity, but in the centre of the town Japanese suicide squads set fire to the buildings creating a new terror for the striken people. Refugees run through the burning streets carrying with them what few possessions they have. Children receive rations after years of deprivation. Atrocities are discovered. General MacArthur walks through the town after its liberation, accompanied by President Osmena. The slogan is now "On To Tokyo".
