- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Launch of Aircraft Carrier "Formidable". DESCRIPTION: HMS Formidable moved down the slipway before Lady Wood had the chance to launch her. SHOTLIST: Workmen are knocking out the shores and Lady Wood had just arrived, when the Aircraft Carrier HMS "Formidable" launches itself of its own accord, twenty minutes before the scheduled time for the ceremony. The great craft leaves its carrying cradle smashed to pieces behind her, and whilst tugs race to take her under control, workmen search the timber baulks for casualties, caused by the flying debris. Sir Kingsley watches the scene with concern.
