- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: President Harding Arrives in America. DESCRIPTION: Passengers on the American liner "President Harding" not only survived bad weather, but witnessed a French oil tanker being hit by a U-boat. SHOTLIST: Shots of a flaming oil tanker and a destroyer searching for the U-boat which did the damage. On the way home a mighty storm breaks over the bows of the liner. On arrival at New York, a coastguard cutter meets the liner and takes the injured passengers ashore. Captain E Roberts of the Harding says it was the roughest passage of his career. The crew of the British Freighter "Heron’s Pool" are also brought ashore. Captain Sydney Batson gives a talk. CU of baby lying in basket.
