- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Singapore II - Malaya on Guard. DESCRIPTION: Malaya also increases her defences whilst also increasing her output of rice. SHOTLIST: The Yang-di-per-tuan-Besar of Negri Sembilan arrives and inspects men of a native regiment who wear their sarongs. After the parade a new mosque is opened and the soldiers attend service after first having removed their shoes. Malayan units are taught by a British officer. They beat their way through the jungle and construct a barrier where they carry out a mock ambush. On the fringe of the forest Bren Carriers traverse very rough ground. In the valleys, Malay women harvest rice and in the forests labour corps fell trees to make room for further rice cultivation.
