- From the very start the Single-Handed-Transatlantic Sailing Race provided a series of dramas. At the start competitors were becalmed, but once out in the open sea race favourite, Eric Taberlay, the Frenchman, was in a collision and was forced to return. The others sailed on. Taberlay is trying to catch them up.
