Summary
A new Air-Sea Rescue Service recently operating from Southend-on-Sea. Volunteer Light aircraft pilots keep a dawn-to-dusk rota of spotter planes available to help the coastguard and Lifeboat services. An exercise showed the value of the new organisation.
