- The luxury pleasure craft "Queen Elizabeth" is off on a trip down the Thames. It’s a small craft with some pretty big passengers aboard for a mannequin parade with a difference. All the models being shown are for the larger woman, like Marianna here in her back woollen georgette guest gown. Its title? "Simply Smart". Note the large sash at the waist - that’s to lead the eye away from the parts no woman wants to believe she’s got! Film stars Yvonne Furneaux and Diane Hart check a few points about Linda Leigh’s dress. It’s in purple wool with hand embroidery. Specially-designed for the larger-than-average woman; outfits being show provide the answer for the woman who normally can’t buy her fit in a style that flatters. Averil models a grey dress in nublion, a new fabric that’s a cross between shabtung and dupion. French and Italian collections have helped British designers in their battle against the bulges.
