Summary
Pathe synopsis: Mecca of amateur and professional yachtsmen is the annual Cowes Week, held at Cowes, Isle of Wight. Although the smaller craft may be obliged to take shelter from the rough weather, it does not deter the larger ocean-going yachts from participating in one of the classic events of the ocean - the 605-mile Fastnet race. Even in good weather it is one of the most strenuous tests of yachts and yachtsmen - in bad weather it is as much a test of endurance as of skill.
