- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: Kariba Dam - and modern man has tamed the wild Zambesi river. We catch tiger fish where submerged forests still show their top branches just over the surface of the world’s biggest man-made lake. Yet you find buffalo on the brink of the most audacious electricity project that civilised man can devise. To see African craftsmen at work forging their hunting spears with sheepskin bellows you have to go to one of the exhibition villages kept going for tourists, because tribal life is dying out. In the Wankie National Park you see lion, giraffe, elephant and antelope. Nature in the raw. Untamed power which you find hard to equate with Kariba’s concrete arch.
