Summary
Pathe synopsis: Amongst the barren desert hills of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan lies the ancient oasis city of Jericho. This is a lush island in a sea of sand and rock. This is where Elisha made the bitter waters sweet, where John baptised Jesus and the ancient farmers fought the greatest battle of Jericho and tamed the desert with irrigation. Now the land is rich with papayas, aubergines, bananas and cabbages that weigh eleven pounds. No wonder the people of Jordan celebrate their agricultural good fortune with a carnival of thanksgiving through the streets of Jericho.
