- Summary
- Pathe synopsis: Unimate is a robot that does more than serve itself, it can reproduce its own kind - almost. This US invention, now being manufactured in Britain, is designed for intricate but repetitive industrial manoeuvres, such as taking a mechanical hand in the moulding of plastic sinks. It’s also a help round the house. To demonstrate its versatility, Mr and Mrs 2000 order breakfast from their armour-plated au pair which can butter toast, pour tea and serve up ice-cold champagne, but as yet, it’s not quite service with a smile.
