- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Fighter Reinforcements Via West Africa. DESCRIPTION: An airstrip in a West African port has been carefully extended so as to provide a staging post for aircraft travelling to the Middle East. SHOTLIST: Trees are felled by native labour and aerodrome runways laid out and rolled by a steam roller covered with leaves to keep the sun out. Hurricanes arrive in crates and are unpacked while native fire-fighters (good types) watch. The Hurricanes which are fitted with long range petrol tanks are assembled and given test flights along the beaches. Then the planes take-off in formation led by a Blenheim Mark Four. There are aerial shots of the sort of country which is flown over, swamps, forests, etc.
