Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Russia’s Vital Days (Russian Newsreel). DESCRIPTION: Pictures from the Eastern front, only just released, show us episodes in Russia’s heroic counter-offensive last winter. The recapture of Rostov-on-Don marked the beginning of the Soviet’s brilliant "comeback" last winter. German soldiers beaten by Russia and the Russian cold, cried "Kamerad" and came in to surrender with special passes dropped by Soviet Airmen. SHOTLIST: The following information was taken from the Commentary. Scenes of fighting in Russia. Fighting in snow. Lieutenant Sheronenko, a tank officer, is re-united with his family after the Russians have re-taken the village. Scenes in factories. Workers, etc.
