- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: India Checks Mass Disturbance Riots (Indian Uprising). DESCRIPTION: The arrest of Gandhi and the Congress Working Committee, has helped to quell the "Civil Disobedience" campaign. SHOTLIST: Shots of streets crowded with people, some walking, others sitting around. Shots of various shops which have been closed by the Government. Placards exhibited in streets. Crowds of people demonstrating in streets, Sikh Police mingled with crowds to keep order. Shot of police on foot. Shot of mounted police. Shot Native Troops one side of barbed wire barricade, Gandhi followers other side. Shot of street people rioting, smashing windows and lamp standards. British troops patrolling streets. One British soldier lying on ground behind a Bren gun.
