MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Iowa Launched. DESCRIPTION: Mrs Henry Wallace, the Vice President’s wife, launched the USS ‘Iowa’ at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. SHOTLIST: General shot of shipyard. Mrs HA Wallace smashing bottle against bows of ship. Iowa going down runway. Iowa taking the water (into camera). CU Mrs Wallace smashing bottle on bows of ship. Pan down of bows to stand where Mrs Wallace is waiting, with bottle in hand. CU Mrs Wallace into camera. New keel being laid after ship has gone down runway, showing her in background. Mrs Roosevelt was also present.
