- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Chungking B.291/D.1. DESCRIPTION: The Chinese capital of Chungking is being revitalised with the arrival of Allied Forces who have turned back Japanese raiders. SHOTLIST: Building under construction. Shot of tower which has arms projecting this being used for parachute jumps. Looking up at tower with three parachutists, arms release parachutes and same float to ground. Children with equipment on, one being fitted by an elder. MS Showing tower with arms extended. Parachutes descending. Looking up at tower from ground. Child just landing, being caught by another child. Children looking up at tower. Child landing on sand. Child landing on sand as seen from top of tower. Photos taken as para. descended. Parachute still open on ground, crowds round parachutists. Chinese looking at news which is pasted on wall. CU Chinaman looking at same. City square general shot, showing ‘ricky carts’ passing through. Various shots of city, MS of posters which are for boosting up the war. Sedan chairs being carried up steps, background roofs of city. LS Bay (Lake) pan shot showing quay & general view of lake, steamer mid-stream. People running down steps. Pony running down steps. Pony up steps. CU Ponies feet. CU Ponies up steps. Sedan chair on ground, four coolies standing by, Seymour walks out to same, get in, collies lift chair & walk off, out of camera, various angle shots. House under construction. CU Chinaman placing brick on cement. Lake - River Yangtze. Library shots of bomb damage in Chungking and the Soong Sisters. Story ends with CUs of Madame and General Chiang Kai Shek. These are library shots from previous story. The elevated shot of the Yangtze River is very good. Chungking is built on hills, you are looking down from top of same.
