- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: War on the Hurs A.261/1. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Indian Army Service Corps has turned camels into stretcher bearers, they can carry two casualties at a time. In the province of Sind the police are having to deal with sabotage being carried out by Hurs tribesmen. SHOTLIST: CU Newspaper headlines: ‘Relentless war on the Hurs’ & ‘Hur Menace in Sind’. Few desert scenes of camels & irrigation system. SV railway. Train coming along same. Wrecked train lying on side of track. Paper headlines CU. CU Soldier (native). Native troops patrolling streets. CU Native officer questioning native. Army Officer studying map. Planes scattered about aerodrome. Hudson plane taking off. Valencia Bombers in flight, instead of bombs they carry paratroops. Paratroops (LS) baling out of planes. Planes are flying in formation. CU natives, sitting around. Arrested Hurs being put on lorry. At prison entrance, Hurs being taken in. CU Gates being closed. Various group shots of Hurs. Collection of weapons used by the Hurs lying on the ground, axes, primitive types of guns etc. CU General Richardson. CU Mr Young, Supt. of Police standing on station steps. Mule Transport - A.261/1 - CARD 42930 Group of horses with RIASC. One of the horses is being shoed. CU Horses foot soldier nailing on horseshe. Shot of ponies. CU Soldier weighing food and issuing same to soldiers. CU Food being shot [sic] into soldiers bag. Shot of camel cavalry. LS Camels on the move. Camel being made to sit on ground, they are then groomed. British troops on the move, soldiers looking through binoculars. Bi-plane flies overhead. Signal being flashed across very wide plains. LS as the camera is at the receiving point, you can only see the flashing. Heavy guns firing. General shot of open country. CU Ramming shell up breech of gun. Gun firing. General shot of camp. Troops paraded. Camels moving across open country with stretcher on either side of them, in which are wounded. CU Camel in the act if kneeling on the ground.
