- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: US Army Capture Germans. DESCRIPTION: German prisoners rounded up in the vicinity of Algiers were mostly men of the Luftwaffe. An important link in the chain of advance to Tunisia is the small town of Bougie. SHOTLIST: German submarine crew captured, also French (Vichy) pan of German crew. CU of each individual. Zouaves (Vichy) pan of German crew. CU of each individual. Zouaves captured placed upon truck, talking US troops. Submarine crew marching past camera, being escorted by troops. CU Swastika. Soldiers walking along line of prisoners with Tommy guns at the ready. German prisoners on truck, prisoners being searched. GS of aerodrome. Yank hold up damaged part of plane. Various wrecked planes & hangars, French planes. CU Wing of plane. Pan inside hangar. US flag flying on control tower. Inside hangar showing aero engines by the hundreds stored away already for use. Off coast LS of several merchant ships on fire, various angle shots of same, also individual shots of merchant ships, lying off coast of Bougie. Destroyers can be seen making their way in & out of ships. Occupation Of Bougie - Troop Convoy - CARD 43177 Landing craft enter Bougie Harbour. Various shots of town from harbour. Troops landing, several shots. Smoke rising from bomb burst behind docks. Enemy aircraft going up in flames, after crashing. Two transports on fire off coast, after air attack at dawn. GS of survivors from a ship sunk in convoy. The two ships on fire are believed to be the Cathay & Kananji.
