Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Taranto Is the Target. DESCRIPTION: Continuing the heavy bombing of Sicily, Sardinia and Italy, "Liberators" of the 9th United States Army Air Force recently went for Taranto. Movietone’s cameraman, Norman Fisher, went on the raid and brought back these pictures. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Ground crews working on Libs, bombing up & giving them their last look over. MS of engines starting. Aerial shot of formation Liberators (LS). Aerial shots crossing African coastline & over the Italian coast line, aerial shot of Taranto, clouds below planes, basket of bombs falling, LS. Aerial of bombs hitting targets, which included a fuel dump, black smoke rising. LS of Liberator in flight. In the beginning of this story you see Yankees loading bombs onto trains, shot of bombs into camera, to CU. Inscription on fuselage.
