MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lightnings. DESCRIPTION: American fighter pilots flying "Lightnings" escort the heavy bombers on their raids over Europe. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Open air briefing by leading Yankee pilot, standing in group, group breaks away each going to their own aircraft. CU Engine of Lightning, & several take offs of Lightnings some into camera, climbing, banking, GS of Lightnings escorting, flying round & round Flying Fortresses. Many aircraft being in the air. Lightnings travelling at fast speed. Two Lightnings returning, one drops extra petrol tank before landing, & SV of Lightnings landing.
