MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Girls Entertain. DESCRIPTION: Another milestone of steady progress in New Guinea was passed with the AIF capturing Satelberg. At the New Guinea base a troupe of girls from Australia entertained the men. Somewhere in the Pacific, an American task force replies to a dawn attack by Japanese bombers. SHOTLIST: Douglas plane lands, girls jumping off, plane, & onto Jeeps, Jeeps drive away. Various shots of girls dancing etc, singing etc. Cut-ins of crowds of soldiers watching. Applauding girls. Cut story - Crowds on aerodrome. Douglas planes land. Girls get out, waving, etc. Jump onto jeep and drives away. Various shots of girls dancing on stage and cut-ins of US troops applauding. Pacific War News - CARD 44511 Cut story - Aussies filing across river & over plains, countryside, jungle. Matildas make their way through jungle, infantry advance behind tanks. Aussies climb snow covered heights, GS seated on top of summit. Infantry advance through jungle mists. Wounded carried on stretcher, pan of jungle shows an occasional dead Jap. Various shots of infantry through jungle, & torrential rain. GS group eating. GV of pilots of RAAF being given souvenirs. Japs Lose 85 Planes - CARD 45512 Cut story - Dawn shot of Grummett type of plane taking off from aircraft carrier, silhouette of same out of camera. LS of formation in flight. Various shots of air combat, shows Jap planes being shot down. Various aerial shots of combat, Jap plane falls into sea behind carrier.
