MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Sea Takes Charge - Prison Ship Wrecked. DESCRIPTION: An "LST" out from Anzio with German prisoners onboard was driven onto rocks and foundered. Fourteen lives were lost on British, four American and nine German. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of LST on rocks, with heavy seas running. This was shot at 6 o’clock in the morning. Most of the shot being dawn shots. American, British & German prisoners abandon ship, some by raft attached to rope make for the rocks. Shot of ships mast showing above water, the sudden sinking being caused by explosion. The sea was very rough.
