Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Allies - Masters of the Skies. DESCRIPTION: Beaufighters of Coastal Command encountered a large convoy off Heligoland and each vessel was hit by them. A few days later Lancasters of Bomber Command attacked the Luftwaffe Equipment Depot at St Cyr, near Paris. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Beaufighters flying low over aerodrome. GV of Beaufighters in flight, several just after take-off. Aerial shot of Beau. in flight with torpedo on under-carriage. CU Beau. in flight. Aerial shots of convoy off Heligoland, Beaus. go into attack, shows torpedo hits, also shooting up ships with machine gun fire. Various shots of same, also shows ships catching fire, burning etc. Beaufighters return to base. Aerial shots of Lancasters in large formations over St Cyr, Paris, flying through flak. CU Lancaster in flight. Bombs falling amongst which is a 4,000lb. bomb. Aerial shots of smoke rising from explosions. Various shots of fires burning. All the preceding is RAFFU material. Various aerial shots of Thunderbolts P47s in formation, flying over camera. Aerial shots of Thunderbolts shooting up transport etc. Firing along beaches, various shots of fires burning.
