Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sourabaya - Trouble Centre. DESCRIPTION: Sourabaya has recently endured some of the most violent clashes of the Javanese war. Indian and British troops are caught up in this dispute and murders of British personnel continue to be reported. SHOTLIST: KS Elevated city of Sourabaya, smoke rises from fires. GVs of British and Indian troops marching through streets, single file, some carry Sten guns, Bren guns and rifles, others let out cable. Elevated shot of city, GV look-out post, firing Sten gun, firing Bren guns, also sniping with rifles, officer looks through binoculars. Indian troops fire 25 pounders artillery guns. LS shells landing on enemy area. Small fires burn. Chinese refugees stream through streets, jeep runs out of smoke caused by fire, various shots of Chinese refugees making their way through the streets. Barricades in the streets, rather futile. Elevated shot of city.
