Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Shopping in Singapore. DESCRIPTION: Singapore looks much as it did in pre-war days and the shops are full of luxury goods. There are no shortages but the draw back is that prices are so high practically nobody can afford to buy. SHOTLIST: Elevated shot of Singapore. Various street scenes, markets etc. Chinese children eat in streets using chop sticks. English ATS ride through streets in rickshaw. GV shop windows, two ATS girls look at lengths of cloth, shoes, bananas, silks, neon sign, "Atomic silks" in window, girls look at handbags etc. Chinaman paints lanterns.
