MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rineanna Airport - Cardinals Arrive. DESCRIPTION: A new airfield has opened in West Ireland, named Shannon Airport, to which American transatlantic services are flying. Recently a number of Catholic Bishops and Cardinals have stopped off there en route to Rome. SHOTLIST: KS GV Skymaster taxiing seen through control room window. Skymaster takes off into camera and over camera. CU parts, nose and tail of Skymaster. Constellation taxies along runway. Passengers walk across aerodrome, board plane Pan-Am Skymaster takes off, SV and out of camera. Mr de Valera arrives by car, walks through small guard of honour. SCU Irish flag. TWA Constellation taxies into position. Arrival of Archbishop Spellman and Archbishop Quirke. GV five Archbishops and de Valera. Group walk into camera. Constellation having fresh fuel put into her. TWA Constellation taxies off. LS names of planes "Star of Rome" etc.
