Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King George V Returns to Portsmouth. DESCRIPTION: The ‘King George the Fifth’ returns to Portsmouth to a joyous welcome from families and friends. SHOTLIST: KS HMS "King George the Fifth" approaches quay. Various angle shots of the KGV, including CUs, also shot shows name on side of ship. Cut-ins of crowds on quay, also SCU two Wrens waving at same. Into camera Captain Schofield down gangway, Royal Marines present arms in fore of picture. SCU Schofield saying "we have sailed many thousands of miles etc." Relatives, friends, walk up gangway onto ship. Various shots aboard ship, embracing, kissing, sailors holding their babies etc.
