MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New York Greets Mr Churchill. DESCRIPTION: During his visit to New York Mr Churchill encountered a small Communist demonstration but otherwise he was given a great welcome in the city. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Churchill in open car driving through. MS Churchill in open car gives V sign. Alights at City Hall, greeted and shakes hands with Mayor O’Dwyer. Mrs Churchill out of second car. MS crowd walking up (out of camera) steps. Shots of Communists with banners etc. "Churchill wants War" others being put into "black maria" by cops. Various shots of Churchill driving along Broadway, in pouring rain, crowds wave etc. Elevated shots of procession, looking down from skyscrapers. Inside Waldorf Astoria Hotel, left to right Grover Whalen. Churchill and Mr Dewey seated at table. Churchill stands up and speaks.
