MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Courtesy Cops. DESCRIPTION: The Courtesy Cops are back under instruction to deal with growing traffic on Britain’s roads. They are being trained in driving skills and how to deal with road users and pedestrians with road safety in mind. The policemen use their training to visit schools and instruct children in road safety. SHOTLIST: KS Elevated shot traffic at Piccadilly. Pedestrians thread their way through moving traffic. Various shots of police in classroom being instructed on courtesy of road etc. Police instructed on engine of car. Police - tested for driving on skid track, others look on. Notice "You of all motorists must not have an accident". MS "Police" sign on roof of car. Motor police patrol, wind their way through narrow streets. Car overtaken another on humpback bridge. Police car nearly gets hit. Two pedestrians walk out from back of van into front of oncoming police car. Motorists stops car open door offside, nearly knocking cyclist over. Police caution him. GV Road ahead as seen from driver’s seat. Children play in road, police car stops, picks up child on tricycle, carries him to mother at house, warning her of the dangers (silent). Various interior shots kids being instructed by police as to use of roads and weak points of cycles. GV (back view) of classroom. CU Child. Children queue with cycles, police checks them as they leave for home. Children run across by-pass, traffic held-up by policeman. Elevated shot traffic in Piccadilly Circus. Traffic awaits lights at Circus. MS traffic lights changing, red and amber on. Traffic moves forward. CU bus moving forward.
