- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Daily Mail Film Award. DESCRIPTION: The Daily Mail National Film Awards were hosted by Lord and Lady Rothermere. James Mason and Margaret Lockwood both received Awards. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Guests arriving in vestibule. Lord and Lady Rothermere receive the guests as follows, Mr and Mrs Arthur Rank, Stanley Holloway and Mrs Holloway, Sally Gray and Glynis Johns, Michael Redgrave, Alice Marble, Phyllis Calvert and lastly Margaret Lockwood. CU Lockwood with Leslie Mitchell. Lord Rothermere addresses audience, speaks about films. Lady Rothermere presents award (statuette) to James Mason, who thanks everybody. Margaret Lockwood presented with statuette, also saying a few words. Anatole de Grunewald and Anthony Asquith presented with statuette as Producer and Director of The Way to the Stars. Audience applauding. Pan along Lord and Lady Rothermere to Lockwood & Mason holding awards. MS Lady Rothermere, Lockwood and Mason.
