MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aftermath of Bombay Riots. DESCRIPTION: Hindu-Moslem clashes on the streets of Bombay have meant an increased police presence and curfew. SHOTLIST: KS Gateway of India. Deserted area around Malabar Hill, Fort Area and Marine Drive the aristocratic district of Bombay, streets empty. LS ships lying off coast, not in harbour owing to riots. Pan of ships. Empty tramcars pass along streets. In the lower class area, people queue for rations. SV old woman receiving her ration. Shops closed. British troops and police with fixed bayonets and wearing tin helmets patrol streets, keeping Indians on move. Crowds clambering aboard buses etc. to get out of city before curfew, crowds enter Church Gate Railway Station, also getting out of city. (Riot - Hindu - Moslem).
