MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monty Ends US Visit and Army Demonstrations. DESCRIPTION: Field Marshal Montgomery came under fire from the American press prior to his departure from Washington Airport. Whilst in Croydon and other places an Exhibition of Modern Army life and equipment has been taking place. SHOTLIST: KS GV crowds round Monty at Washington Airport. MS Ike with Monty, the latter addresses the press (silent). Monty shakes hands with Maitland Wilson, shakes hands with Eisenhower, walks up gangway to plane, turns and salutes, enters plane. At Croydon, Surrey, troops marching (night photography). Churchill tank laying bridge, bridge touching down on ground, armoured car goes over same. Troops give slow march demonstration, various general views of exhibition, children on tanks, bulldozers, interior of radio vehicles etc. All the preceding - Croydon - was taken at night. At Hounslow Heath, various shots of Mobile Baking Vehicles. CU mixing dough machine. GV of exhibition.
