MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Palestine News. DESCRIPTION: ALLENBY BRIDGE RE-OPENS - The bridge had been blown-up by terrorists last July and has been quickly repaired. HAIFA DEMONSTRATIONS - A crowd of workers in mourning over the death of an illegal immigrant staged a demonstration in Haifa. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV Allenby Bridge, across River Jordan, near Jericho. Various angle shots of bridge. Police and engineers stand near bridge, sign by roadside approaching bridge. Shots of bridge with ruined building in fore. Bridge being tested, Sherman tanks cross same. MS of tank transporter crossing bridge. At Haifa, elevated shot of crowds (Jews) in streets, demonstrating against non-burial of immigrant. Walk towards Commissioner’s office, British troops place barbed wire across street, other troops arrive in lorry, with fixed bayonets approach the crowds, eventually Jews decide to go home, ending demonstration.
