- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Is It Peace?. Library Compilation. DESCRIPTION: A reflection on the war years and a hope of peace for the future. SHOTLIST: Montage - UN symbol, Bevin at conference, Byrnes enter building. Molotov in Hall of Mirrors. Interior of United Nations in America. Truman on rostrum. Byrnes and Molotov shaking hands at the Waldorf Hotel dinner. UN symbol again. Elevated shot crowds at Cenotaph. GV gravestones in cemetery at El Alamein. Crowds at Cenotaph with CU of soldiers, sailor and airman superimposed on same. Dunkirk - soldiers climb over side of ship, others being carried off on stretchers. LS interior of work in factories, making tanks etc., welding. Crowd shot in street looking up into skies. Formation of German planes pass overhead. Ack-ack guns firing at same. GV burning buildings during Blitz of London, night shots - firemen fire fighting. Crashed German plane. CU Japanese pilot in Kamikaze plane, fires, buildings burning in Singapore, through bombing, GV elevated. Lieutenant Colonel Percival surrenders at Singapore - seen marched through streets by Japs and forced to carry Union Jack and white flag. Destroyers at sea and in battle, plane crashing into sea, and explodes. CU smoke from destroyers. GV aircraft carrier in battle. (V1 directly after take off - not to be used). V1 in flight. (GV wrecked buildings - not to be used). People being carried from ruins on stretchers. Slow motion - V2 takes off and flying into stratosphere - trail. (LS London and explosion in background - not to be used). Wounded carried off ship. People look at ruins. Repatriated prisoners of war. People read newspapers. Service being conducted in ruins of Guard’s Chapel, London. Aerial shots of atom bomb. LS of atom bomb exploding. Crowds in Whitehall superimposed over clouds rising from explosion.
