Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: £3 1/2 Million New London Tube Extension. DESCRIPTION: A new 4 1/2 mile extension to the Central Line has recently been opened at Liverpool Street. However, more improvements to the Underground are urgently needed to ease the strain of peak hour travel. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS CU sign Liverpool Street. Shot from bottom of escalator, people coming down same. Mr Barnes turns key, curtain falls away from tunnel. Mr Barnes, in background can be seen Lord Brabazon, enter railway with him is Mrs Barnes. Mr Barnes has only one leg. MS train running out of platform and entering tunnel. Signal changes from red to green. In carriage of train during journey. MS of the above seated in carriage, incidentally Mr Barnes who is in a non smoker is smoking. Train enters station and people alight. Various shots which will be useful at later dates, crowds during peak hours rushing through barriers, down escalators, various shots of crowds at Piccadilly Circus Underground Station.
