Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cold Spell in England. DESCRIPTION: ENGLAND UNDER SNOW - Icy winds, heavy frost and quite a lot of snow have caused problems throughout the country. However, at Wimbledon and Hampstead Heath people were making the most of the snow and ice. SHOTLIST: KS Coach going down Wrotham Hill, Kent, snow on ground about 6 inches thick. GV empty snow covered road with falling snow. MS parked lorry and car covered in snow pan up to house. CU Sign ‘Ice Bound Road’. MS (x2) man shovelling snow from road. Several shots of coaches making their way through heavy snow near Wrotham, also cars snowed in. Civilians skiing down Wrotham Hill. At Wimbledon Common, various shots of people ice skating, tobogganing, and sliding. At Hampstead Heath, several shots of people tobogganing down very bumpy slopes.
