MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Amateur Speed Skating at Bury Fen. ‘Skating for British Title’. DESCRIPTION: The cold weather has meant that the British Amateur Skating Championship could be held at Bury Fen, Huntingdonshire. SHOTLIST: KS Group of skaters eating a snack, standing on the ice. Arrivals of competitors and admirers. Henry Howes, the winner being assisted, putting his skates on. MS of skaters’ feet as they skate about the ice. Several different shots of a policeman skating up and down the small crowd. Starter fires the pistol and couple starting in heat. Several shots of them during heat, passing one another, also going in opposite direction at times. Two nearly hit one another on bend. Henry Howes speeding round course, speeding past timekeeper with stopwatch. SCU Henry Howes. SCU of him receiving the cup. CU Howes holds the cup and his skates.
