MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mountbatten Sworn in and Sees Gandhi. DESCRIPTION: Lord Mountbatten is sworn in as Viceroy. One of his first acts was to issue an invitation to Mr Gandhi who came to the Viceroy’s house for discussions. SHOTLIST: KS GV Durbar Hall. Interior - Lord & Lady Mountbatten seated on throne in hall, crowds in fore. MS of both seated. Both stand. Mountbattens march through hall in procession. American car draws up outside Viceroy’s House, Gandhi alights, enters building. Various shots of them in the grounds with Gandhi. MS Lord & Lady Mountbatten with Gandhi.
