MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Poles for the Pits. DESCRIPTION: A number of Poles have come to swell the labour force in British coal mines. SHOTLIST: KS GV pithead. Several exterior shots of pithead, shows wheel turning at top of same. Miners collecting their lamps, entering lifts, lifts going down shaft, coal trucks through wooden gate, into camera. MS Polish miner, Marian Better speaking on behalf of the Poles, thanking us for our welcome. MS Sir Ben Smith, saying how we welcome the Polish miners.
