MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cobb Beats Land Speed Record. DESCRIPTION: On the Bonneville Salt Flats John Cobb breaks his own time for the Land Speed Record. SHOTLIST: KS Aerial of parked cars and crowds on the flats. GV of the above. Chassis being placed on engine (Railton Mobil Special). GV of motor. John Cobb having bottom of his shoes dusted. Cobb in driving wheel position. Panning shot of speeding along Flats. Taxies into servicing depot. Mechanics at work on same, placing ice into radiator of car. Shots of him at speed along flats, breaking record, cut-in of spectators turning their heads giving impression they are watching the car speed pass. End of run. Cobb taxies in. Kissing his wife.
