- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: UN General Assembly. Vyshinsky’s Accusation Against Churchill. DESCRIPTION: Mr Vyshinsky, The Soviet representative, made an astonishing attack on America and Britain in the General Assembly of the United Nations. Later Britain’s Minister of State, Hector McNeil, delivered the British reply. SHOTLIST: KS GV Exterior of UN Building. Elevated GV of Assembly sitting, several shots. CU Vyshinsky addressing meeting in Russian, gesticulating with his arms. Hector McNeil (British Minister of State) approaches rostrum, picks up jug of water and places beside him on rostrum. CU McNeil addressing the meeting, speaking of us crumbling up, also speaks about the atomic energy. Lastly refers to Vyshinsky’s accusation against Churchill, the former compares Churchill with Hitler. McNeil says Winston Churchill is the greatest man fighting Fascism and he didn’t know of a Communist in any country with the same greatness. Also that Churchill walked about the London streets during 1940/41 while German planes were bombing and for all we knew fuelled with Russian oil.
