MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Eire General Election. DESCRIPTION: Mr de Valera ended the election with 66 seats against 76 for all other parties. It remains to be seen whether he can hold onto power. SHOTLIST: KS MS various Election posters. MS entrance to polling station, Eamon de Valera enters. De Valera inside, casting his vote, his son can be seen in background. At counting office, Sean MacBride (de Valera’s opponent). Exterior shot shows figures of how the election is going outside Irish Times office.
