MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Test Match - Lord’s. DESCRIPTION: The Duke of Edinburgh meets the rival captains before the toss-up. England open the batting, reaching 313 for 9, Mann, not thinking, declared which is illegal on the first day of a three day Test Match. As New Zealand didn’t lose any wickets it was overlooked. SHOTLIST: KS. Queues outside Lord’s. Various shots of queues. Elevated GV crowds inside ground. Duke of Edinburgh meets the captains (Mann & Hadlee). LS play. Cowie bowls Robertson LBW. Various shots of types seated in paper hats etc. shading themselves from the sun. Cut-in Attlee & Bevin watching. Trevor Bailey batting. Denis Compton batting. Evans clean bowled.
