- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Australian Strike Leaders Get Gaol. DESCRIPTION: Documents were seized by the Australian CID to try and detect where the strikers received their funds. Mr Chifley and Dr Evatt arrive in Sydney from Canberra to consider the position. Meanwhile demonstrations in the streets continue. SHOTLIST: KS. Coal along conveyor belt. Detectives load lorry with cases, document, etc. taken from Communist Headquarters. Looking down hold of ship, grab lifts up coal from same, unloading coal. Prime Minister, Mr Chifley & Dr Evatt enter building. Demonstrators in streets. Idris Williams - Miners’ President & George Grant - General Secretary taken away to gaol, into camera shot. Demonstrators in street, waving their arms & shaking clenched fists. Black Maria drives away, person in fore shakes clenched fist - Fascist salute.
