MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Donald Campbell Puts Bluebird to the Test. DESCRIPTION: On Lake Coniston, Donald Campbell is attempting to break his father’s water speed record of 141.74 mph. After putting the Bluebird through several trial runs he speaks on the boat’s behaviour. SHOTLIST: GV. Lake Coniston. Campbell in Bluebird & donning jacket. GV Bluebird. Bluebird starts - out of camera, shot of wash left. Swing shot of Bluebird at 90 mph. Donald Campbell comes ashore. Campbell & wife Daphne (in pouring rain) walk to mike. Campbell says a few words. Both are smoking, he a pipe, she a cigarette. Bluebird starts, bow of boat comes right out of water - SV. Bluebird (swing shot) at speed of about 120 mph.
