Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour of the West Country. DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth visits Exeter and Plymouth. SHOTLIST: Princess Elizabeth drives through Exeter, crowded streets, beflagged, etc. Walking through the High Street with Mayor, Major General Michelmore, to Princesshay - a new thoroughfare. Inspects guard of honour 4th Devons. Addresses crowds. Princess Elizabeth with silver screwdriver fixes plaque to restart building of city centre. Crossing ferry to Plymouth, they are accompanied by the Lord Mayor Alderman Frank Leatherby and his wife, inspects City Standard of National Savings & then walks in procession to St Andrew’s Church. Princess Elizabeth addresses & unveils tablet of the Mother Church.
