- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Gib Greets the Amethyst. DESCRIPTION: Gibraltar had prepared a very hearty welcome for the frigate Amethyst on her way home from the Far East. She was met off Europa Point by two lines of small craft, as she steamed slowly in. The Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Kenneth Anderson, came aboard to welcome the ship. SHOTLIST: KS. GV "The Rock". "Amethyst" draws alongside quay, after passing along two lines of small craft. Lt Commander Kerens on bridge. Governor Lt General Sir Kenneth Anderson comes aboard, received by Kerens, inspects guard of honour. Several shots of ship including damaged lifeboat. Crew march through streets of Gibraltar.
